Two researchers supported by CSoI (Yury Polyanskiy and Sergio Verd\xfa) are co-authors of Y. Polyanskiy, H. V. Poor and S. Verd\xfa,"Channel Coding Rate in the Finite Blocklength Regime," IEEE Trans. Information Theory, vol. 56, no. 5, pp. 2307-2359, May 2010. The paper has just received the 2011 Information Theory Best Paper Award.

The same team of Polyanskiy, Poor, and Verd\xfa won the 2010 Student Paper Award from IEEE a year earlier with "Variable-length coding feedback in the non-asymptotic regime".
