A CSoI REU student, Lauren Crudup, and her team, won a gold medal for the presentation of their project at iGEM 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts! Gold medals were given to the teams with outstanding projects and thorough documentation.

Lauren Crudup is mentored by CSoI's Assistant Director for Diversity, Todd Coleman, Associate Professor in Bioengineering, at University of California San Diego.
