CSoI Faculty Member Jennifer Neville Honored with UMass Alumni Award

Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Statistics Jennifer Neville has been honored for Outstanding Achievement by a Young Alum by her alma mater, University of Massachusetts Amherst .
According to the UMass Amherst School of Computer Science , \\"To recognize the remarkable accomplishments of graduates of the School's degree programs and to acknowledge the support of important friends of the school, the School established the University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Computer Science Outstanding Achievement and Advocacy Award (OAA) program, under which awards will be presented annually in various categories.\\" The fifth annual Outstanding Achievement and Advocacy Awards Banquet will be held on the evening of Friday, May 3, 2013, and Neville will be present to accept her award.
Neville received a B.S. (summa cum laude), an M.S., and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2000, 2004, and 2006, respectively. She joined the Departments of Computer Science and Statistics in Fall 2006. Her promotion to Associate Professor with tenure will be effective with the 2013-2014 academic year . Neville's research focuses on machine learning and data mining, particularly the development and analysis of algorithms for relational domains, including social networks, citation analysis, and fraud detection.
