Advances in genomic sequencing technology are spurring data production at increasing speed and volume, but the data contain various types of noise that can negatively affect downstream steps in genomic sequencing analysis pipelines. In this talk, I describe SAMDUDE, a denoiser for aligned genomic data that leverages alignment information. SAMDUDE's denoising performance is evaluated by the accuracy of downstream variant calls, and is compared to that of state-of-the-art genomic denoisers.
