This free two hour workshop will introduce graduate students and advanced undergrads to an open-source computing ecosystem that aids in science collaborations within and between laboratories and projects, provides high-performance numerical computing, and data visualization.
The workshop will concentrate on the use of IPython Notebook, a tool that makes data analysis easier than ever to share and reproduce. The IPython Notebook is a web-based interactive computational environment where you can combine code execution, text, mathematics, plots and rich media into a single document. Notebook supports LaTeX with Python, Julia, and Haskell languages, with multi-language integration - for example mixing Python code with Cython, R, Octave, and scripting in Bash, Perl, or Ruby.
Bring your laptop to participate in the hands-on portion of the workshop.
Pre-registration requested but not mandatory to attend.
