Brent develops and manages the education program, evaluation, and reporting for the Center (and currently also Interim for the diversity director programming for the Center). The programs key components include student research teams, annual summer school, curriculum development, online Learning HUB, and research workshops. His academic background includes a graduate degree in ethology, and research and extension work throughout the state of Indiana in watershed management, water quality, renewable/sustainable agriculture and land use planning.
Brent co-coordinated a new interdisciplinary graduate program in Ecological Science and Engineering, developing a seminar course and teaching an ecology and sustainability course at Purdue. He was co-developer of the award-winning Indiana Watershed Leadership Academy serving professionals and volunteers in communities throughout the state. In his spare time, Brent is a musician playing electric and acoustic guitar, a blogger on spirituality, nature, and men's topics, and enjoys attending Scottish, Irish, and German festivals with his family.
